FY2025

Overview

The Czech National Bank is one of Europe's few fully integrated supervisors — monetary policy, resolution, and oversight of the entire Czech financial market under one roof in Prague. It became the MiCA competent authority in February 2025 and took in 245 crypto licence applications in its first year; grants could begin only once the Czech transposition timetable allowed, and by mid-2026 the CNB had authorised 11 CASPs and one e-money token issuer. Everything below is the CNB's own data, from its FY2025 annual report.

CNB is an integrated central bank. This figure covers the whole institution, including monetary policy, currency and reserve management functions alongside supervision, and is not directly comparable with standalone supervisory authorities.

Organisation

Staff figures cover the whole institution — monetary policy, international reserves management, currency issuance, statistics and resolution alongside supervision. CNB does not publish a supervision-only headcount; headcount is down 5.1% from 1,516 in 2022 following a deliberate streamlining programme. FX: CZK 24.7/EUR, the 2025 average rate stated in the annual report.
