Overview

HANFA is Croatia's supervisor for the non-banking financial sector — capital markets, insurance, investment and pension funds, leasing and factoring — and the country's licensing authority for crypto-asset service providers under MiCA. It issued Croatia's first five MiCA CASP licences ahead of the 1 July 2026 end of the transitional period, from which date only MiCA-licensed providers may serve Croatian and EU clients. Its long-serving Chair, Ante Žigman, left in June 2026 to become Governor of the Croatian National Bank. Everything below is HANFA's own data, from its official publications for 2025 and 2026.
