Overview
The MFSA regulates a financial sector that generates 7.3% of Malta's economy — from a single authority of 575 people, one of the tightest supervisor-to-firm ratios in Europe. In 2025 it processed 1,094 applications, approved 1,023 authorisations, held 1,849 supervisory interactions and reviewed 1,400 due-diligence reports across 2,413 authorised entities.
