🇨🇭Switzerland
Switzerland has no PSD2, EMD, or MiCA equivalent — payments and crypto are regulated by activity. FINMA runs the fintech / banking licence ladder (deposits up to CHF 100M (~€106M) on the fintech licence, full banking licence beyond), AML sits with FINMA-recognised SROs such as VQF or PolyReg, tokenised-securities venues need a DLT trading facility licence under the FMIA, and the SNB oversees systemically important payment systems. For some payment and crypto business models, Swiss market entry via SRO membership can be materially lighter than an EU licence — the trade-off is no EU passport.
